NYC over Christmas

Anyone been with teenagers over Christmas week? Is it too cold for making the most out of sightseeing?

Have visions of a wonderful Christmassy holiday, tree @ Rockerfeller, ice skating etc. Worried the reality may be grumpy teenagers complaining about the cold.

We stayed in the downtown one - we booked direct through BA and got amazing rates, I don't remember a resort fee but this may have been included in the booking. The lobby is amazing and there's lots of bars/restaurants/food outlets around without having to walk far and a cinema that you can access through the hotel itself if I recall. Blue Smoke was amazing, and there's a Shake Shack there too - we were very happy to find that after a long day travelling.

I second blue smoke! Great restaurant. And shake shack milkshakes are phenomenal!
