Best Alpine resort for a summer family holiday

With DD14 and DS12. We love the Alps all year round, but tend to go to the same place (near Evian). We would love to find a new spot with lovely walking, a few activities and perhaps day trips. We normally head to France, but are happy to consider anywhere in the mountains/ foothills. In fact, somewhere quite different would be great! Happy to sort our own transport and ( self catering) accommodation. Any ideas?

Seefeld in Austria is lovely

Morzine/Les Gets area.

Huge lift network, great pools and lots of activities. Pretty easy to get to, I’ve always flown to Geneva and then an hours transfer.

Seefeld is lovely as mentioned by pp. We had a lovely week there. Also Interlaken area but you need ££££ - Wengen, Grindelwald, Reichenbach Falls. Arschlucht gorge is fabulous - not sure of my spelling though. The cost of the cable cars alone was eyewatering.

Mayrhofen and the Ziller Valley is nice. You can get train/funicular to Achensee (Chalet School fame), the Krimml waterfalls and the Hintertux glacier. Also easy for Innsbruck. We did some nice walks stopping at mountain huts for refreshments.

Saalbach-Hinterglemm in Austria. Beautiful mountain views, mountain biking, hiking, Europe's largest "Go Ape"-style climbing area, zip wires. Easy access to caves, old silver mines, salt mines, veteran railway at Zell am See, lake swimming at Zell, Krimml waterfalls, Salzburg for the airport (or a day trip) ... Free use of the cable cars and local transport with the Joker Card.

Thanks so much. I love the idea of visiting one of the Austrian resorts- completely new to me.

The Zillertal is excellent in summer. My children are younger so haven’t tried the more adventurous activities, but there is mountain biking, whitewater rafting and stuff like paragliding as well as hiking. It seems to be much quieter in the summer than winter so accommodation is easy to come by as well. You could probably manage without a car although it does make life a lot easier.
