Lapland clothes

Hi, I’m looking for advice - we have a holiday of a lifetime to Lapland coming up (company based package holiday) and I am trying to order all the right clothes. I have sorted out base layers and have mid layers for the kids but am struggling for myself. Everyone recommends fleece joggers but I can’t stand them - how they look or feel! Is there a good alternative? I know they won’t be viable most of the time as we’ll have the supplied ski suit on but I just feel uncomfortable in them. When eating meals do many people just wear their base layer trousers? TIA

Are you saying you’ll wear a base layer like long johns, fleece leggins and padded ski trousers all at the same time? If yes, that’s too much. You’ll just have the long johns and ski pants on top.

when eating meals you don’t take ski pants off. If the ski suit is all-in-one then you just tie the upper part around your waist.

How soon are you going? Have you checked current temperatures?
We went a few years ago and it wasn't as cold as expected (-4 each day rather than -15 as usually expected). I just wore thermal base layer/ leggings under ski trousers or fleece lined leggings.

Longjohns bottoms and tops, regular clothes , ski suits.
But much more important is your gloves, socks, hans.

Do get good quality socks and perhaps wear 2 pairs. Merino wool are recommended.
I can't function if my feet are cold!

Multiple pairs of gloves! We only did a day trip and got thru 2 pairs each and the kids did 3!

If you don’t like joggers, how do you feel about fleece tights or leggings? I’m guessing not good, which is difficult!

When I went to Lapland, I wore fleece leggings, joggers then ski trousers on bottom half. It was not too much, and for most activities we had to put on the supplied over suits as well,

Hey - thanks for all the responses - we’re going mid December. I’m happy with the long johns so I guess leggings over the top would be ok, if this is too warm I guess I am just wondering how daft wearing just the base layer bottoms would be when taking the suit off. It’s sounds like it’s obligatory to take the suit off for meals
