Family holidays with older teens

Help! Struggling for summer holiday ideas abroad to suit our family of four with two teenagers aged 15 and 17. We're after somewhere with activities, ideally where there's a chance for them to meet others their own age. Also somewhere with a bit of life in the evenings (nothing too tacky but some buzzing bars/restaurants would be perfect, ideally within walking distance). An added bonus would be some interesting places to visit nearby for day trips without loads of driving. We've done Neilson/Club Med holidays in the past but they're just too pricey for us at the moment so any ideas on a bit of a budget much appreciated.

Marina di Venezia

Florida? Can spend time at the theme parks, loads to do - good nightlife on city walk. You can day trip into Everglades territory or crystal river?

I think Florida might be beyond our budget this year but will certainly keep in mind for another time - thanks for suggesting!

Marina di Venezia looks fab - will certainly check that out. Thanks also!

A cruise? We took ours on a couple of cruises at that age and they loved it. If you choose the right ship/line then there’s loads for teens to do, and teen events for them to meet other kids their age. Ports to visit most days, and usually a variety of bars/restaurants/entertainment in the evening.

I second a cruise. I had never considered one before but we took ours when they were 17/18ish on a med cruise and it was perfect.
Day trip every day to somewhere interesting - Barcelona, Monaco, Rome etc.
Evenings they can safely do their own thing and meet up with others their own age.
Another one that worked for us with DC and a friend 16, 17,19 was Costa Adeje Tenerife. Fantastic water park, beaches with water sports, mountain day trips and nightlife as lively as you like.

Club la Santa in Lanzarote?

Thanks very much for all the suggestions. I hadn't really considered cruises before but will take a look. If there are any companies/ships which might be particularly suitable I'd be keen to know. Thanks again!

Portaventura theme park in salou? You can stay on site, or in salou. In the summer the theme park is open till 11. Salou itself is ok, definately not posh but has a family vibe with some nice places to eat.
