Boston and ? Somewhere on the coast

Me and DH are planning 10 days or so next September flying into and out of Boston. Thinking 3 days in Boston then a week or so somewhere coastal - but where?! I've talked myself round in circles and back again looking at Cape Cod, Rhode Island, Ogunquit, Falmouth... We will have a car but we don't want to drive every day, we want a base that's big enough to have things to do and we can do some days out.

Any recommendations gratefully received!

Chatham is a good location on Cape cod. Decent restaurants and a nice quaint town but also far enough east to be within good reach of all for sightseeing and the beach is lovely. Chatham Bars Inn is a reliably good place to stay.

Thanks, I'll check it out!

Oh gosh you are spoiled for choice. I’d start in Sandwich (Danl Webster Inn) and work my way around, Chatham, Brewster and finish in Provincetown. Am green with envy!

Completely jealous! We had our honeymoon there, did cape cod then up into New England in the Fall. We did a couple of nights in Boston but were a bit disappointed by it. In cape cod we stayed here innonthesound.com

Boston is fabulous! I recommend staying around Copley Square - great location for Newbury St, common, etc It’s such an easy city to navigate.

Spoiled for choice is right, and that's what's proving tricky!!

Thanks all, there are some really interesting places to check out 😊

Just came across this as I’m planning something similar in August. How did you go about hiring a car? Any top tips?
