Thinking about going to F1 Austin next year. I’ve always wanted to go to Texas/ Austin and the kids are in half term. It lands on my F1 mad son’s birthday too.

Not sure where to start! Any tips? Thanks

I've had a look at some of the packages (I was looking in Europe's tho!), and there are packages which cover transport / hotel stay and tickets, which give you access for either 1/2/3 days over race weekend, they were pretty reasonable! It would be even more reasonable to arrange your own travel and just buy the tickets, and splash out on them - it looks like there's lots of parties on after each race, I'm sure Lewis Capaldi and Ed Sheeran have played recent F1s.

I would love to go, you should grab the chance! My MIL and SFIL went to Silverstone a few years all, total VIP and it sounded amazing!!!

i looked into it for 2019 and was gonna stay in downtown austin and use the shuttle bus but it was very costly think it was 150$ for a 3 day pass for the shuttle and parking at the track for 3 days was extorinate....ended up deciding against it and planned to go to montreal in 2020 which ended up being in 2022 and a hell of a lot cheaper than austin would have been

This company have indicative prices but there are loads of add ons.

Start looking at prices ASAP. I looked at going last year - and this year - I could get reasonably priced flights but hotels were outrageously priced and then some! Plus getting to the track is a pain in the neck. So I decided not to go.

If you haven't been to a non-UK GP before, be aware that flight and hotel prices can get silly (so if you find a decent deal, lock it in immediately!) but also restaurants etc put up their prices too so it can become very expensive indeed.

Thanks everyone. I’m hoping someone can recommend a company for the tickets. We may have to do accommodation separately as not everyone can do the full time.

On that note, is there anything good to do for the rest of our time? We’ll have around 5 days before it starts.

Thanks

I’ve not seen separate tickets. Can you buy direct as at Silverstone? These days they sell out very quickly though, so I would expect a package is the only way.

It's always better to buy direct as you get a better choice and usually better prices. Austin 2023 tickets haven't been released yet:

British Airways now operate direct flights to Austin from the UK.
