Holiday in Cornwall

In late June next year, we're hoping to take a holiday to Cornwall. 'We' are my DH, my DS (who will be 2.5 yrs at this point) my mum, stepdad and I. We will go in one car and my parents will go in another. We live about 6-7 hours away from Cornwall and are expecting to go for about 10 days. We'll likely stay overnight on the way there and back somewhere like bath or bristol to split the journey up a bit.

I haven't been to Cornwall since I was a child and remember loving St Ives. We will certainly visit St Ives though didn't want to limit myself by looking at accomodation in this area alone.

I'm reaching out for ideas on where to stay, where to eat, days out and whatever else you would recommend. We plan to do some things all together but sometimes apart so e.g my parents can go off and have a nice day walking/shopping while we have a more relaxed day with DS or my parents will have DS one night so we can have an evening meal out just the 2 of us. Thanks everyone 😊

I'd avoid Bath we looked at it for a short break and only residents can park in the centre.
We are similar time to travel to Cornwall, we've used Portishead for stop off as just south of Bristol.
Recommend visiting Charlestown.

We love St Ives, but it's very busy even out of season. I'd plan a day there but wouldn't stay. We stayed at Una St Ives which is nearer to Carbis Bay. It's got lodges on site with a restaurant/pool etc.

From there we went to the Minnack Theatre, St Michael's Mount (avoid the car park though at all costs, it's rip off central by CCTV), Lands End - all great days out. It's also close enough to drive to Padstow/Rock/Newquay. We did the tin mines along the coast too, beautiful scenery.

We stayed in St Agnes last time, but didn't like it at all and wouldn't recommend.

We stayed in marazion last year which was nice and much quieter than st Ives. Some of my favourite places:
lanhydrock
St michaels mount
padstow has some nice restaurants and you can take the ferry over to Rock
the mill at little petherick is also good
also the heron inn just outside Truro
eden project is popular but quite expensive IMO
there are quite a few national trust places to visit and st Michaels mount is quite expensive so may be worth taking out an annual membership. We also use national trust visits to break up longer journeys eg tyntesfield near Bristol.
We were in Bath earlier this month and left the car at the hotel and walked everywhere as parking can be a challenge. Bradford on Avon is about 9 miles from Bath and is a lovely town.
