Where to eat in London?

I would be grateful for your ideas. I'm meeting my sister on Saturday, and it would be nice to go somewhere special, but not too pricy. We both like middle eastern food, and prefer to have not too much meat.
I was thinking central London, but we are staying near Canary Wharf, so any thoughts in either area might be helpful.

My favourite is Fairuz in Blandford Street off Marlybone High Street.
Extremely reasonable and great place to relax

I agree with the Sofra recommendation - there are two near Waterloo which is easy from Canary Wharf.

Its not Middle Eastern, but in Canary Wharf I love Sticks n Sushi which, despite the naff name, is excellent pan Asian food and not too meaty.

Look on Tripadvisor. Type in your destination, and see what restaurants are nearby.

My favourite Lebanese restaurant is Maroush. There's one in Knightsbridge and one on Baker St. Not close to C wharf but you can get the jubilee line direct to Baker St from there.

There's a really nice Turkish restaurant in Canary Wharf on the waterside, called Haze.

But Canary Wharf has pretty much everything foodwise.

I like Chai Ki in Canary Wharf, Indian not Middle Eastern but has plenty of veggie options and delicious cocktails.

I second Yalla Yalla. There is one off Oxford Street and another, very small, in Soho.

I’ve come back to this thread specially after DC bedtime to say I think the Ottolenghi restaurants would really suit you. There are different locations so you can choose where works.

If you like seafood then prawn on the lawn can't be beaten. Or for pasta try Padella near borough market x both fabulous, special but not breaking the bank!
