Food poisoning

Hi guys I'm new to this but just wondering if anyone has had any experience of claiming compensation from loveholidays for food poisoning or any other infection picked up from holiday from swimming pools? Both my children were really ill and public health and UK health and security were involved when we got home.

Thanks 😊

I do hope they are OK now.
I'd read the small print, I fully expect they have covered themselves.
It's also very difficult to prove where infections were picked up. I fought with Tui over severe D&V when I'd only consumed their food & drink. I lost; proving a negative is impossible.
Does your travel insurance include compo ? Or just the costs of treatment?

It’s a question of proving the source of infection. Were other holidaymakers affected? If so do you have their details? Did you complain in resort? Did your children see a GP & received a diagnosis? Any tests carried out? Have you had any response from the tour operator since you returned home? Check whether you have legal cover on your home or travel insurance. It can take quite some time to settle these type of claims, often years. Take care if you decide on picking a no win no fee lawyer, sometimes people end up with either a huge bill or any compensation awarded is sometimes swallowed up in costs. Read the t&c’s very carefully. How are your children now OP? Are they still suffering from the infection?

Are your insurance not covering the costs you have incurred

Thanks so much xx We stayed on an all inclusive hotel for 10 days in Turkey and only used the pool in resort and only ate in the hotel as had a number of restaurants within the facilities. My boys were both had funny tummy's after about day 6 but only mild to start with but got progressively worse. My eldest the night before the flight was at his worst. Couldn't keep off the loo and was in agony. We managed to get back home ok after I went to chemist in Turkey to get something to stop him from goimg (just so w

Just so we could get him home. Any way we went to docs as soon as got home. Both were tested and both had Ecoli 0157 and my eldest had Cryptosporidium. I think that's why he probably suffered the worst. I have sent an email to loveholidays but not had a reply yet . They state that they will respond with 56 days which is tomorrow. So i will be chasing this up if no response. They are fine now thankfully. Took my eldest a fair few weeks to get back to normal. He lost alot of weight and energy levels were very low. Thanks for your response lovelies 😊

I have been to Turkey twice this year. Antalya and Dalaman regions. Both times there was a bug going round the resort causing stomach pain and sometimes d and v. I am a member of Facebook groups for these areas and from reading posts on there and talking to people in resort it affected people from all hotels not just the big all inclusive ones. I had it myself in Antalya whereas dp was fine.Just because you never left the hotel it doesn't mean your dc's didn't pick the bug up from guests who had ventured out of the hotel. I think you will find it very hard to prove anything. Particularly if the hotel have footage of you in the restaurants and in the pools as this shows you still enjoyed your holiday

Did you see a doctor in Turkey?
