Similar to Kefalonia

We absolutely love Kefalonia and have been a couple of times. We love the chilled vibe, it's more for couples than kids, safe, clean, nice vibe in the eves and retained the authentic Greek charm. We don't really enjoy overly touristy or tacky. We love cobbled alleys, a nice atmosphere. No Linekar bars 🤣
Any recommendations of Greek Islands? Or maybe somewhere different to Greece - open minded!

Thassos and skiathos has very similar vibes to kefelonia.

Sivota is stunning, Ionian coast

Skiathos, Kalymnos, Paros. All beautiful.
Santorini is stunning but unfortunately is now infested with people off of the cruise ships much of the time.

Parga on the west coast of the Greek mainland is gorgeous - we went there this summer and it was just as you described!

Sardinia. Pretty unspoilt & great for couples. Lovely relaxed bars and restaurants. Can be pricey though depending on your budget.

Ohhh we have been to kefalonia and loved it. We went to Santorini in august and have skiathos booked for next year. We look for exactly the same things as you in a green holiday.

We did a Sunsail holiday round the Ionians, starting in Lefkas. Loved it. Prettiest places were Sivota and Ithaca.

I would've loved Kefalonia if we hadn't been sold our apartments being right up the top of a hill/mountain rather than by the sea...

And if I hadn't left my SO at the time part way through and flew back.

I found it overrated to be honest - Myrtos Beach wasn't that great and Argostoli was a concrete nightmare. But each to their own...

Went to Santorini years ago and loved it - apparently so crowded now - there's some place in Eastern Europe that's being compared to it as well as a few other Greek islands.

Lesvos - Molyvos in the north-west and Skala Eressos (small and quiet) in the south are my favourites (might try a two-centre trip next time).

Also did a Sailing Holidays flotilla of the south Ionian, all lovely. Fiskardo especially.

Unfortunately, as lovely as Santorini is, it’s now full of travel bloggers.
Everywhere you go there’s someone with a camera filming their dinner, pouting in to the camera😌

Syros and Tinos. Stunning islands just 20-30 minutes from Mykonos.

@Riapia yes we were in a coffee shop and couldn't believe that people would stand practically across our table to take a photo. It took some people ages!! We also saw lots of women in floaty dresses posing for the camera. It's a fantastic island but sadly a bit touristy now x

We loved Skiathos earlier this year. It hasn't yet been spoilt.

Can anyone recommend a company to book with? I’m looking for a hotel that isn’t signed up with all the usual Brit tour operators!

Skopolos is worth a mention.

Any island that doesn’t have an airport will be less developed than ones that do. Also less full of kids. Are you willing to fly to Athens/closest island with an airport and a ferry after your flight?

If so then I nominate

• Paxos
• Skopelos or Alonissos (Skiathos is nice in places but has some overdeveloped bits)
• Paros
• Naxos
• Folegandros - I’ve never been as it’s a PITA to get to (ferry from Santorini probably the best option) but looks lovely

There’s also a load of lesser known Cyclades - Sifnos, Tinos, Symi etc

I-escape is often a good source for this sort of place as is Sawdays

Paxos is idyllic and just a boat ride from Parga on the mainland. You could combine the two?
