Hi , we are looking at Krakow on the run up to Xmas this year , I’ve heard that maybe the Xmas lights might not be on or limited due to the increase in energy prices .
Is krakow a nice place to visit for a few days ?

Yes. It’s beautiful and interesting and lively. Lots to see and do.

Yes lovely! Certainly visit the salt mines.

Yes - it's gorgeous. I went in early December last year. It was freezing cold, Christmassy, the Christmas market was lovely, absolutely loved it.

We visited Auschwitz and Schnindler's musem - both fascinating. And went for food in Kazimierz the Jewish quarter which we loved. The square in the afternoon freezing fog, with a glass of hot mulled wine - was just fabulous.

Where have you heard this about lights? We went last year and are going again this year. Christmas Markets advertised as usual. The lights are a big part of it and the whole thing is a big tourist attraction for the local businesses so I would be very surprised if they tried to run it without the lights

Ah, just had a little google and found that the New Years Eve party in the city is cancelled and that there is a possibility of energy saving measures such as turning Christmas lights off at midnight. But Christmas markets and lights starting as usual on the weekend of 26th November 😀
