Taking multiple bottles of spirits abroad within limit permitted?

Does anyone know if this is permitted? The limit for the county I am flying to is 1litre and I can't see if I can take e.g. a 70cl bottle and several miniatures, totalling 1l. Thanks in advance

Don’t you mean 750 cl? That’s 3/4 of a litre. You’d have to buy it after security. Are you that desperate?

Silverpossum · 23/10/2022 18:08

Yes I do. And I'm not desperate at all although not quite sure what you mean. Some relatives would like different spirit gifts from the UK and that may be difficult to spread across a single litre.

I think you've confused cl with ml. If the OP is taking a 750cl bottle, she'll need a supermarket trolley just to wheel it through the airport!

OP you need to check the rules of the country you're going to. Without knowing where you're going, none of us can predict what's acceptable to them.

I have checked and it just states a litre sadly. I wondered if anyone else had navigated whether this can be across more than one bottle in similar circumstances but appreciate not an exact science!

Yup! I have. I don’t do this. I just buy what I want where I’m going or go without. No hardship and I cannot be bothered with booze to that extent! Clearly it hadn’t given me clarity of thought!!

Some countries are less strict than others. But we're not psychic. You need to name the country or people are just guessing.

If it says litre I would assume you can take a litre made up of smaller size bottles, as long as the total volume is 1 litre or less. I buy baccie for someone in duty free. You can bring in 250g, which I buy as 5 X 50g packets.

You are very confused.
First, you mean ML, not CL. Also, standard bottle of spirits are 70cl, as OP says, not 75cl, you're thinking of wine bottles.
Third, what has being desperate got to do with anything?

Silverpossum · 25/10/2022 07:10

Thanks for the helpful comments. I haven't shared the country as it's a little outing and their guidance says nothing beyond one litre. I might just take one bottle rather than stressing.

WhaaWhaa · 25/10/2022 07:16

I've never done this but I can't see why you couldn't has long as it's not more than a litre overall. I can't see why it would be a problem and I would have done it without thinking about it.

You sound pissed right now to me. You are waffling nonsense.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 25/10/2022 07:18

Yes I’ve done this it was fine. Good luck OP.

It's the quantity of alcohol that they care about. If you want to take 10 100ml bottles in rather than one big one, you can.

Fair challenge, even if a bit of a mean way to go about it!
