Hi all.

We are looking to book our first holiday abroad with our kids next spring, before our eldest starts school and we have to pay school holiday prices. We've been to center parcs and a holiday cottage in Cotswolds which both went well.

We'd like a short ish plane trip (3 hours max), warm climate and lots of activities for the kiddos, like pool, parks, beach etc.
Thinking Greece / greek islands or Canary Islands but open to anything really. Nice food and not a party destination. Doesn't have to be a hotel but also might be!

Can anyone recommend holiday like this that went well, with examples of why it was good?

Thank you!

You won’t get to Greece or the Canaries in under 3 hours. Corfu is one of the nearest Greek islands and it’s just over 3 hours. You probably want somewhere in the Balearics or Costa del Sol. Maybe even the Algarve.
There’s a Holiday Village in Benalmadena which has soooo much for the dc to do and it’s in a good location for some nice day trips.

@Fivemoreminutes1 thank you. Have you been there? Do you know the name?

Italy is great for kids as they love them, otherwise mainland Spain or Portugal, Greece and canaries are more than 3 hours

Lake Garda - you fly to Verona (2 hours from London), you have beaches, amazing food, very child friendly. Lovely camping places or Hotels with pools too. Lots to do: boat trips, walking in scenic towns and parks, Gardaland (theme park), water park, zoo, day trips to Verona and Venice. It’s warm from May until September.

alternatively Sicily is brilliant too, sandy beaches, very child friendly and also fantastic food. We stayed in Cefalu, one hour from Palerma. Beautiful sandy beach, lots of Hotels with pools and a lovely town.

My friend went with 2 small kids to Puglia and loved it. She stayed at www.baronedimare.it/index.php/en/
