November suggestions for a couple.

My DH and are planning to go away mid November for a week or possibly up to 10 days. I’ve had a foot operation so city breaks are out, I am up for some exploring but not 20/30k steps which is what we always end up doing on city breaks.
In the past we’ve been to Dubai and Mauritius at this time of year and both trips were really good as there was so much to do in both locations and the climate was good.
I was thinking if Oman but it seems very expensive and we could only stretch to about 5 days actually there.
We have a budget of 3.5k to include spending money and any trips or car hire we book.
Egypt is also a possibility although every time I book there it seems to get cancelled and I was stuck there with the ash cloud years ago.
Any other suggestions?

TUI do packages to Senegal and Gambia. We went to Gambia and stayed in a lovely hotel and just enjoyed the warmth by the pool.

I hadn’t thought of Gambia, I’m going to look up exertions they offer there as as like to get out and about roughly every other day.
Thank you.

You can do quite a few from memory. Lots of wildlife stuff along the river.

I really enjoyed our trip, none of the mass tourism stuff and they are incredibly friendly and welcoming to tourists.

Amman in Jordan is great for day trips jordantraveler.com/day-trips-from-amman/ We stayed in the InterContinental which has both an indoor and outdoor pool plus spa facilities.

Thanks to both of you, this is exactly what I was after. I’ll do some googling of both places.

South Africa?

I second the Gambia. We went in November with The Gambia Experience a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are loads of excursions - river trips with birdwatching, Roots tour, jeep tour (get a car with a guide for the day - hotel can arrange - so you can see a mix of markets, traditional herb gardens, beach, etc. in a day), safari in Senegal (that wasn’t amazing tbh, but the border crossing was really interesting!). You can also walk to the crocodile pond, beaches and a local fishing village from most hotels. We managed to do all that in one week through a mix of signing up to tours the operator ran, booking a private guide (the hotels know who to call) and doing it ourselves.

South Africa?
I would love to go back to South Africa but the flights would take up to much of my budget.

Did you get vaccinated for yellow fever before travelling to Gambia and did it feel safe? Were you harassed in anyway for money, my DH has encountered this before on previous trips and finds it stressful.

We were harassed constantly in The Gambia, there’s no way d have felt safe on my own outside of our hotel.
