City break? Beach? Europe doesn't close really but yiu may not find a holiday beach resort. Canaries are always good for a warm break

Depends on what you want. Canaries are a year round option and it could be warm enough for a beach/pool holiday and there's usually plenty of other things to do if not, eg Lanzarote has the volcano park, caves, vineyards, cycling, hiking, watersports, Cesar Manrique arty stuff.

Other cities like Malaga, Seville, Paris, Barcelona, Palma are all business as usual. It's only really the Greek islands and Balearic beach resorts that 'shut down' out of the main season.

Canary Islands

Any of the Canary islands. Anywhere further north not reliable sun.

What about Portugal guys

Well you want guaranteed sun so Portugal is a gamble. It might be warm but it's winter there and you might be unlucky. I love Portugal but would only go in summer.
