Mercedes Benz World, Brooklands - For Kids, or just a car showroom?

I'm getting confused looking at the Mercedes Benz World website... is this a place suitable to take children on a day out, or is it just a large showroom?

Anyone been? What is it like? Would a 3 year old enjoy it? Looks like the area around is a country park, with playground - is it any good?

There is an exhibition there at the old track, think there is an old Concorde amongst other things. Aimed at school aged more I'd suggest from friends' comments.

It IS a very large, fancy showroom on three levels but there is also a 7/8 minute film (visual, no words) tracing the development of Mercedes Benz and a small simulation ride. You can look out at the track where they test cars and there are some interesting displays and you get to marvel at lots of lovely convertibles. However, agree that it is of far more interest for slightly older children - once they can read, and particularly if they are into cars. There is a playground and park just down the road but haven't been as my kids are older. I don't think I would make a special trip with a three year old but combined with a picnic and play in the park it could be a useful add-on, as it's free and has toilets and a coffee shop!
