Iceland - Blue Lagoon - do I have to go in?

We're off to Iceland at half-term. My family are all keen on the ubiquitous trip to the Blue Lagoon. I don't want to actually go in the water, are there indoor facilities there for me to have a drink and a sit down and not join them in the lagoon does anyone know? My Googling has not been good enough to get an answer to this exact situation.

Thank you!

you can just sit in the cafe.
the Secret lagoon is much nicer than blue lagoon though if they fancy something special.

@catchthedog Thank you. I agree that the Secret Lagoon looks better but I think the DC want the Blue Lagoon experience. I'll keep trying to persuade them. I guess if I do, my original question applies to the Secret Lagoon too if anyone can help with that?

yes secret lagoon also has a cafe restaurant area.
in the blue lagoon you can see the water from the cafe, but you can't view anything if you're at the secret lagoon.

I've been twice, I hated it. The second time I sat in the cafe with a glass of wine.

Thank you again @catchthedog

@Mercurial123 This is very much my plan!

I got told off by one of the assistants for not showering naked!

ChocolateHelps · 15/10/2022 17:17

The Icelandic people are very clear that the rules are that you shower naked. Keeping a swimming costume on seems to imply you are not clean enough. Blue lagoon has indivi showers so it's less obvious. Ever local area has its own geo thermal pool and you really need to shower naked. Got used to it after a while!

The cafe is bonkers expensive, but you can definitely sit there

If you will have a hire car, why don't you just drop them off and go and do something else? Wander around Grindavík or something, or take a stroll along the coastline there? There is a nice café there and you will get a lot more for your money than at the Blue Lagoon.

If they wanted to go on a coach tour, why not just let them go without you, do a museum or something, and meet up again afterwards?

If you don't want to go to the Blue Lagoon (and I can quite understand why you wouldn't) there are going to be nicer places to wait for them.
