Lanzarote or Gran Canaria in December? After Christmas

We rarely get to go on holidays. Shitty year, and REALLY need something to look forward to. Would love heat. Is is really warm enough to swim & sunbathe in the Canaries in Dec?

I've been to lanzarote in December, it was nicely warm but could get a bit chilly if windy. The sun was shining everyday, I'd definitely go back.

I've been to all the canaries in January, I love Lanzarote.
It will be warm during the day but chilly in the evening and it gets dark at 5pm.
Don't expect the kind of sunshine holiday you would get in the med in August but it is a welcome blast of sun in the middle of winter.
As to swimming - the sea is the Atlantic and it is their winter. TBH it's too cold for me in July. You need a hotel pool that is heated.
If you get a villa look for one that is electrically heated rather than solar if you want to swim in january.
