Where would you travel if you had all of August 2023 off work with DC aged 11&12?

Vietnam, I did a month with 2 grannies and my kids aged 7 and 8. We loved. Amazing food. We'll set up for tourists. Cheap. So much to see and do.

Where to go for 4 weeks will massively depend on your budget. We’ve done lots of month long trips and how much we’ve spent in eg Thailand or Central America is nothing compared to what we’ve spent in eg Japan (a LOT). How much are you looking to spend? And what sort of things do you enjoy? Are you ok with hot weather or prefer somewhere more moderate?

Peru and Ecuador plus Galápagos Islands. Perfect time to go. Or South Africa. Yes it’s winter but the game parks are brilliant then and the whales will be in Hermanus where you can see them from the shore. You can easily spend a month there and explore KwaZulu Natal as well as the Winelands. All are less busy.

Anywhere like Namibia works too. Lots to see and do but more in SA! Japan would be hot but plenty to see. Thailand and Vietnam too. USA in the North. Canada and Alaska are wonderful!

Thank you. Vietnam is on the list.

Thank you for you reply. None of us are good with the heat, a balmy early 20’s would suit us.
My DH has no interest in the game parks. I’ll have to save that one until my DC are older and take them by myself!

We’ve ruled out USA because of the exchange rates. Budget is healthy but not enough to be staying at Raffles every night.

I’d get the caravan hitched and go out and tour in it again. Never done four weeks but have done three. I’d like to do wales down to Devon and Cornwall and back up via Yorkshire again

Oh no! We all love our inner David Attenburgh! DC loved watching lions and searching for tigers etc: best of days.
