Ryan air checking in teens

Hi . We was supposed to have gone on holiday flying with Ryan air last Christmas which was rescheduled due to Covid .
My child would have been 15 last Christmas when we booked , the travel agency did correct this for this year we’re travelling this Saturday

However when we tried to check in today the Ryanair check in wouldn’t let us check in our teen
We have tried calling Ryanair but they can’t change it their end , but said we have to go on
their website and verify our teen

it’s a nightmare any advice please ?

Airlines can be quite hot on potential trafficking of young people. At Robin Hood Airport I have seen teens routinely taken and interviewed separately from the people bringing them in. Just think of the vulnerable children who might be saved in this way.

Contact their customer services on chat, takes a while, but they are really helpful. I accidentally put my dd as an adult and my partner as a teen and it wouldn't let me check in as the ages didn't match the passport! The online chat had it sorted in seconds.

Have had exactly the same - booked through Opodo (which classed 12 YO DD as an adult) and on trying to check in, issues as Ryanair classed her as a teen. Long wait after getting past the chat bot, but speedy once there.

Thankyou for your replies Omg it’s so stressful , we have never had this with any other airline .
My hubby spoke to Ryanair earlier and they said we need to verify our teen through their website
Has anyone got the link for the chat please or do I have to log in ?

I did it through the app…

Ryanair is a stressful load of crap and we won’t be using them again
we had trouble checking my daughter in going on holiday and had to queue at customer services for a boarding pass . We tried to pay for priority but it wouldn’t accept our paymenf

we’ve just tried to check in and pay to sit together and again wouldn’t accept our payment even though we picked the available seats so again as a family we are separated
my advice to anyone avoid Ryanair they wreck your holiday !!!
