Has anybody done this trip? I went to Tanzania nearly 20 years ago to climb Kilimanjaro, but I skipped out on the Zanzibar part of the trip because I felt bad about leaving my son for that long.
Now I need to do a BIG mileage run to preserve my Air France status, and Zanzibar came up as one of the more affordable options. Unfortunately, the AF "deal" requires a 6-day stay and I'm pretty sure my guy can't get another 6 days off when we just got back from vacation yesterday. (I know this sounds precious. But we haven't traveled anywhere since March 2020.) So this would be a solo trip. However, I have heard some not-so-great things about Zanzibar (and particularly Stone Town) as a woman traveling alone.
Has anybody been?
