Always love hearing about peoples holiday plans - what holidays have you got planned/are hoping for next year and the year after?

It's nice to have travel to look forward to after barely any in 2020 and 2021!

No kids so separately every two/three months or so....

  1. Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla
  2. Brussels, Ghent, Bruges and Ypres to see the Menin Gate and WW1
  3. Maastricht, Aachen, Cologne and do the DIY boat trips on the Rhine.
  4. Fly and flop in my sister's lovely apartment in Estepona Spain.

I am very fortunate, and not crowing. I'm 65 now and have done my work for society. Am taking advantage of a window of good health and mobility touch wood.

We are going to Mexico at Easter (cancelled in 2020 days before we were due to go) then spending a month in Spain in July/August staying in Fuengirola and hoping to spend some time in Gibraltar, Malaga, Marbella and do sunbathing and sightseeing over the month.

Hoping to go to Barbados in April 2024 but so expensive if going in school holidays.

Going to Prague next weekend (seeing The Cure over there) plus Edinburgh for New Year!

2023 we are doing exactly what we did this year! May half term and again in summer hols we are going to a particular, family friendly AI resort in Türkiye. We rarely,
if ever, used to go somewhere twice, no matter how good, but our daughter loved it so much and we had such a great time, why not?! Currently trying to sort the flights out though as we were going from Doncaster which is obviously going to be closed by then.

2024 my husband is wanting us to go to South Africa to Cape Town and the Garden Route. I’m not sure how I feel about the idea though so I’m not sure if I will be going along or not.

Did Cape Town, garden route and safari a few years ago and it was amazing - do it!!

I'll probably ask that we compromise and spend as little time as possible in Cape Town. The rest sounds nice.

We spent a few days (maybe 3 nights) in Cape Town and had a fantastic time so don't rush it! Of course there are areas to avoid but there's so much to see and do! The hop on hop off buses are excellent as it's quite spread out and there are different routes, and it's a great, safe way to get around. As is Uber which is extremely cheap! We went up table mountain, para glided off signal hill, visited the amazing botanical gardens, explored the V&A waterfront, and did a brilliant day trip to cape point and boulders beach to see the penguins. We also went for dinner in a township (not as odd as it sounds, it's like the top rated restaurant on trip advisor) and had some fantastic food and wine! It was a really great start to the trip for us at least. I don't remember feeling unsafe although we were obviously careful. Then drove to Franschoek for a couple of nights which was stunning, and did the wine tram and a lot of wine tasting, very lovely! Different vibe there and felt totally safe. Then drove the garden route. Honestly the best holiday with the most spectacular scenery!
