DH and I are thinking of taking advantage of the way New Year falls this year and taking a 4 night city break from the 31st December to 4th Jan that only needs 2 days off work.
We have to fly domestically to Heathrow and then on from there, so not all destinations work for us. Of those that do, which would be your preference?
Munich
Nice
Madrid
Vienna
Lisbon
Prague
The bottom 3 are the more expensive options. I've been to Nice before and DH has been to Prague. The others are all brand new to both of us.
I also had Stockholm on the list but apparently we can't possibly step foot in Sweden without visiting DH's family (a 4 hour drive from Stockholm) so that's out. Must remember that the next time we go to London without visiting my family in Durham.
Copenhagen we did last year so not ready to repeat that yet.
Public events on New Years Eve itself would be nice but not a dealbreaker as it's not the reason we're travelling. Some options we wouldn't get there until NYE evening anyway.
