We'd like a family holiday somewhere over the Easter holidays but am totally stuck on destination. We live in North Africa, so are already mediterranean and live right by the beach. We don't like AI and the kids are 6 and 9 and good travellers- although I'm not hugely keen on a massive long haul flight.
DCs like animals, greenery and nature. The flight cost will be mostly covered, unless it's very long haul- we are otherwise air bnb and public transport types but budget is reasonable. So far I've considered and discarded:
- South Africa: Very keen on this but the flights are annoying from here and wonder if youngest DC will get more out of it in a few years
-Sri Lanka: a bit far, but most importantly has an FCDO do not travel warning on it.
-Slovenia: too likely to rain
-Sicily: a bit too much like where we live now and with kids in tow DP and I won't be able to relax and enjoy the food.
-Iceland: dreadful weather in April
Where can we go that's a bit adventurous, has lots of animal action and decent weather? It's a great time of year to go on safari but I don't think the budget will run to it and I'd rather the kids were old enough to remember.
What's been your best April holiday?
