Tourist Taxes Cancun

Hi,

I haven't been abroad since CV and I'm some what out of touch. I've looked online at which taxes are due and where they are payable and I'm still confused.

We have a package holiday to Cancun with Thomas Cook (yes they trade online still after a take over) , flight with BA. The last time I went I know a tax was included in a flight but that was with TUI. I think there is a new tourist tax now payable but unsure how or when to make Payment?

Also, I assume we still I'll out the arrival form on the plane to be stamped on arrival?

We went to Mexico in the summer with TUI. They sent us an email beforehand with the details on about the exit tax, I followed the link, paid it (around £40 for four of us), and printed off the confirmation, but then no one asked for it at the airport.

Paid an environment tax to the hotel on arrival, I can't remember how much that was.

We were given immigration forms to fill in on the plane. At Cancun airport they took these off us and just stamped our passports. We did not have to keep half to give back as they changed the rules on that mid August.
