Turkey recommendations

We are looking towards a holiday in Turkey at either May half term or the start of the summer holidays next year. We've never been before so after some recommendations. By the time of travel DC will be 8 and 10 - they're quite easily pleased on the whole but would love to go to a water park one day.
Open to self catering, half board and AI ideas. So where have your amazing holidays in Turkey been? Thank you!

What sort of budget do you have OP, and what sort of place do you enjoy? Some of the resorts cater mainly for british people and have lots of places serving full english breakfasts/ English sports bars, hotels with loads of other English guests/kids etc so would be great if that's what you want but awful if that's not your sort of thing. Some resorts are quiet so great for a relaxing holiday by the beach but not ideal if you're looking for loads of entertainment, shops etc. If you can say what sort of thing you would like in your ideal holiday I'm sure someone will be able to give you great recommendations.

4-5k for a week. English breakfast and English sports bars are not what we are after, a little bit of luxury with enough to do for the children. We'd like some opportunities to to water sports etc. and nearish to a nice town that we can visit.

I'd recommend May over the start of summer hols if heat is a concern. We had family there in May this year and it was 30+ every day. I went many years ago in August and it hit 50 for 2 days!

Follow "Best hotels in Turkey" on Facebook lots of real reviews, photos and advice.

I have booked TUI magic life Masamavi for next year. Trendy lara Hotel seems to be popular too.

Turkey is massive you need to research and narrow it down to one area. I would look at 5* hotels and no less areas like Anatlya/Belek

This place was wonderful when we went this year- kid themed rooms, slides inside hotel, unlimited ice cream and sweet bar, theme park and water park on site, dolphin show etc, plus shops, and a shuttle to a sister hotel by the beach every day, kids clubs in both sites.

Start of the summer holidays will be very hot. High 35c or more if there is a heat wave.

Pine Bay, Kusadasi with on site waterpark and two huge waterparks nearby. My two were the same ages.
The only place, and we've done a lot, we ever went back to.

I would recommend Bitez on the Bodrum Peninsula. It’s a nice resort, chilled and relaxed with a decent beach and water sports.
its 15 minutes away from the town of Bodrum, which is lovely. And it’s only 45 minutes from the airport which is good when you have children
