Baby bottles, flying help

Hellooo I am flying next week and not feeling very organised. Have a 5 month old baby and staying in hotel night before flight. Need to figure out how to sterilise bottles in hotel so have enough for travel and also how to take them through the airport and what to do. Any advice? X

What about buying the ready made stuff?

you just add a teat to them

The add the teat ones generally come with newborn teats don’t they? Mine were on a size 3 at 5 months so that wouldn’t have worked at all!

If you sterilise before you leave home they’ll still be ok for the hotel and flight, sometimes you have to suspend the 24 hour rule a little bit if you’re doing a very long journey - I’ve done flight connections before that ended up being about 30 hours or so and you just can’t get the steriliser out on the plane. Plus feed ready made and that stuff is sterile anyway. I take empty bottles in hand luggage and ready made milk. You can either get it before and take it through security in ‘reasonable quantities for the flight’ or you can do a click and collect order to the airside boots.

You could take a plastic tub with a lid (ice cream tubs are about the right size for two bottles) and Milton tablets, wash the bottles in the bathroom sink then sterilise using Milton solution. Back in the days of mothercare you used to be able to buy sterilising bags that had the tablets in and you just filled them with water and hung them up somewhere, I don't know if you can still get something similar.
