Hi all! I go to france in six weeks, just booked. I need a new passport - do i pay £70 for the one that may come anytime between 1-10 weeks or pay £177 for a one week fast track and have to travel two hours to collect it from my nearest passport office?
I suppose my question is:
Has anyone ordered a passport recently on the standard digital renewal option and had it quickly! Thankyou!

I renewed mine online in July. Was processed and back in my hand within a week. I was very surprised.

I renewed 2 X kids passports mid August. One had a query and had to be countersigned even though initially they said it didn't need a counter signatory. Both were back within 2.5/3 weeks.

@xyzandabc thanks for your response! I may risk it unless I get any recent horror stories!

It's no longer the busy time in the passport office. I did DSs last September and it was back within a week and half. Was very impressed.

@AnneElliott thankyou :)
