Jet2 booking - unable to book seats

Hi, wondering if any more experienced package holidayers might be able to help. This is my first time ever booking a package holiday abroad, and several friends have recommended Jet2.

Trying to book a last minute holiday for our family of 4 for next week.

2 adults, 2 children (both under 5).

I have got some way through the booking but when it comes to selecting seats on the outbound flight I am unable to. The only seats left are the extra legroom emergency exit ones over the wing, which Jet2 won't allow me to book for the kids.

Do I continue through the booking without booking seats, then turn up on the day and hope that somehow it'll be sorted by the flight crew moving other people around? Are they likely to turn us away and prevent us flying if the only seats available aren't suitable for the children? I really don't want to go through the palaver of booking it all, turning up and then not being able to fly. My 5 year old would be heartbroken!

Anyone had a similar experience and could shed any light?

I've messaged them on their chat thing but it doesn't reopen until tomorrow morning, so hoping someone here can give me a heads up as to whether I should proceed with my current booking or just cancel the whole thing and start over with a different resort or different flights.

They keep some seats back for check in. If you go for it then check in early. Be prepared to sit in two separate pairs.

I was at this situation with our summer holiday, it wasn’t a last minute break but not much in advance. I opted for different flights, a bit less convenient but they had more options.

They won’t turn you away, they’ll upgrade someone to the extra legroom seats and give you theirs.

Phoned them up this morning and the lady was very helpful and got it all booked for me and gave me assurances we wouldn't be kicked off the flights. She also gave me an extra discount that want available online so even better!

Good news @TheBeastReleased and so much more relaxing than having to wait until the morning of going.

I don't quite understand Jet2s business model though- I've often had extra discounts by phoning up, when you think they'd prefer everyone to go online.
