Have a break booked for half term to Tenerife. Never been before or on holiday in October.
Not sure what to pack , will we need fleeces or coats for the evening? Jeans ? What about day wear ?
It should be about 20oC , but can't trust the internet too much.
Anyone any ideas what to expect weather wise?

We've been to Tenerife in October several times and it varies. Sometimes it's been 26 degrees, sometimes it's been 19 degrees.

It's definitely not cold at night, but cooler. Definitely take a couple of jumpers just in case.

We went to Tenerife at Christmas. It was lovely and warm in today around 26 so warm enough for shorts and vest. The night did get cooler so trousers and light jacket was needed.

Also been to Puerto Rico which is in the canaries ar the end of September beginning of October and it was red hot in the day and hot at night

Looks like I'm packing a mix of clothes then.
Thank you for the replies

We’ve been to Tenerife at beginning of November. Bikinis, shorts & vests etc in daytime - definitely sunbathing weather. Light jackets & cardigans needed most nights.

We were in the South, I believe it can be cooler in the North.

I think we are south ? Not sure though !

I kept getting mixed up as to which bit of the island we were in! We stayed in Los Cristianos.

True about North-South differences. The former can be much more overcast at times.

Tenerife tends towards being 'moderate' and in October I would have summer clothes and also some autumn ones with me.

If you get a disappointing run of days, head up Teide above the clouds for clear skies in the crater.
