Europe interrailing

Thinking of taking DC interrailing next summer - they will be 16 and nearly 18. They've both got different wants from the trip, and would like to include Germany and Turkey...

Would love hear of others' experiences and itineraries!

Ah SO much fun.

Definitely include a few night trains in your itinerary- with three of you it would be worth getting a private couchette on a nightjet - you can get a nightjet from Munich or Zurich to Zagreb, for instance, which would make sense for onward trains to Istanbul.

With kids that age I'd definitely want to include Berlin and maybe Warsaw/Krakow as well as Budapest.
