Visas to Nigeria: how to get and how much?

Hi.

We have just been invited to a wedding in Nigeria (Abuja) end of November and we're thinking of going (one family member is Nigerian). I have never been to Nigeria so I don't even know where to start when it comes to planning.

We probably need a tourist visa but there are several websites offering this.
What is the genuine route to get a visa quickly and how much is it?
We'd be going for a week...

Also, what sort of vaccines do we need and where can we get them quickly?

Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

This should tell you what you need to know www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/nigeria

Find your local vaccine travel clinic (google) they will have up to date lists for Nigeria. From memory you definitely need Yellow Fever and a certificate of proof.
I would also recommend malaria tablets.

A Nigerian wedding is a huge event that is days long. Enjoy!

Visa I went directly to the High Commission in London. It looks like you now apply online:

Hi
I used OIS Services on Fleet street twice, worked fine but found the whole Nigerian Visa process quite complicated.
I just had a look at the fees again and it is nearly 150USD!!! Definitely was much cheaper last year.
I applied about 6-7 weeks before I travelled and that was fine but wouldn't wait closer to travel date as didn't want to buy tickets before I had my Visa.
I always use antimalarial tablets when there and loads and loads and loads of insects repellents.
Yellow fever vaccine is not mandatory for Nigeria.
What they check is Covid jabs and based on that you either need / not need to test before travel/on arrival.
I would advise to print any form you need for travel at least 3x as they like to check and recheck everything...
The wedding will be loads of fun, Nigerians know how to party 😁
