Fuerteventura

Looking to book a trip next summer.
Have agonised switching between islands in Greece, the Balearics & Canaries.
Think I've finally something that ticks all of our boxes in Corralajo - but I'm so nervous of making a bad decision so wise MN'ers
Tell me about Fuerteventura....

Corralajo beach is gorgeous. White sand and turquoise water. Huge vast swathes of it too. Windy though and cold water. Lots of surfing and wind sailing. Lots of nudists too. When I went, there was pretty much just one huge hotel right next to the beach. That could well have changed though now, as its a long time ago that I went.

The centre of Corralejo is tacky and there are quite a lot of half finished buildings everywhere. I’d definitely go for Greece over Fuerteventura.

It was...okay.

Windy as fuck, and our resort must have been directly underneath the flight path because there was lots of lowing flying aircraft. The town itself was a bit concrete iirc, but I do have some nice photos of the kids that were taken on the beach there, so I think that was nice.

It wasn't horrible, just not very memorable- I only really recall the wind and the planes!

Fuerteventura is really windy, which keeps it a nice temperature but we found the pool/sea far too cold because of it. Also struggled with a nice meal/drink outside because of the wind. Depends where in Greece, but I’d probably go there.

I would 100% prefer Greece but I think it will be too hot for us in August 😭
Back to the drawing board....it doesn't sound amazing.

I hated Fuerteventura.

Much prefer the Greek Islands and the Balearics.
