I came across this survey when trying to get some ideas for half term... they even reward the best tips with £200! Hope it's useful, I'm going to have a good read of all recommendations on here and on there so hopefully I'll get something together for my shoestring budget

I'd always opt for nature, especially with kids. It depends on where you live, but I most enjoy something simple like picnic in the park. It's great too as you save so much money on food, AND it's free! The only problem being that it's not the right weather at the moment.

The survey link is interesting, but where can I read about others' tips? I.e. the link only goes to a survey but not to what others have suggested.

TutorGirl · 26/01/2008 21:47

Yes, it doesn't show anything on what other's have said yet because probably no one posted to that part of the site I assume and I am yet to write my idea there..lol But I checked other parts (some with prizes as well) for the surveys and there are tips for the B&B, Best place to escape from it all, Best spring walk, Best place to enjoy half-term.

You just have to click on them through this link I just gave you and just above the blanks we use to give ideas you'll see click here link so you can get to the page where the ideas are.

I hope I was not that confusing..lol

Coventry Transport museum
Herbert art gallery
the Priory Visitor centre Coventry
The City Farm Hillfields Coventry
All Tried and tested xxx
If you have to travel a little way you could make a day of it and see them all!

That sounds fantastic! Did you post them on the Enjoy England survey as well?

I surely will try them all. Thanks Funday

Hi TutorGirl
I don't know whiich bit of the country you are in, but if you're in the midlands, DS wo is 4 loves Coombe Abbey and Ryton Pools in Coventry and the Abbey Pumping Centre next to the National Space Centre in Leicester.

Try IdeasForTheKids for more ideas wherever you are in the UK. You can filter on free stuff amongst other things too.

Here's to a few dry, crisp, sunny days. Fingers crossed.
