Mauritius in June/July or alternative golf hotel elsewhere

We are considering returning to a wonderful hotel in Mauritius but the dates that work for us are end of June/July

Has anyone been there at this time. I know it's winter but what is the weather actually like?

Otherwise does anyone have any recommendations for a luxury golf hotel, good quality all inclusive that we can fly premium economy?
It must have golf/water sports etc

Thanks

We went early September, which I think was towards the end of winter.

It was pleasant but not hot. We were in pools etc, but if I were to go again I would go at a different time of year.

Yes we went in early July this year. Its their winter so it can be cold and wet. The best time to visit is April and May which our taxi driver told us.

We went end of June/beginning of July this year. Still warm and sunny but very changeable weather - rain would blow through within about 10 minutes though. Definitely avoid the east side of the island as the prevailing wind is pretty strong at that time of year - we weren't able to sit on our hotels beach much due to the wind (but we weren't too bothered by that).

Ours wasn't a golf hotel, so no recommendations there I'm afraid.

We went in July to a lovely hotel on the East side. The first 2/3 days the weather was really windy and I feared we’d made a big mistake. After day 3 the wind dropped and it was beautiful 24 / 25 degrees and sunny. It stayed pretty good the whole time with heavy rain once or twice for an hour or so - not all day. There were still water sports available at the hotel but maybe not everything that they would have done in summer ( they advertised a film night on the beach for example and yoga on the beach). The pool was pretty cold but the sea temperature was warm… I think the holiday makers the week before us had a week of crap weather so we got lucky. West side of the island seems more developed but maybe because there’s less wind.

To clarify we went end of July and into August

@Baxdream I can recommend a brilliant Golf resort in Turkey - Ultra 5* AI . Been many times.
Maxx Royal Golf and Spa - Belek
Has Montgomerie golf course and hosts international tournaments.

Heritage Awali Golf and spa resort is amazing

Went in June , had 2 days of rubbish weather out of 10

We went around that time and it was perfect. Yes there were the odd shower but they didn't last. Didn't get outrageously hot. No way I'd want to experience one of their summers.

Tenerife has wonderful golf facilities, several attached to nice hotels, and has arguably one of the world's best water parks (Siam Park).

Awali is where we went and where we would go back to! We went in March and had a rainy day.
When we went to fly home there were some people who had had bad weather all week on another part of the island.
I just can't spend that kind of money and risk bad weather.
I absolutely would go to the awali and nowhere else if we went back to Mauritius

Turkey- I'll have a look but we had a bad experience there and vowed never to go back

I'm thinking Caribbean? Essentially this is a final holiday with the teens who will be doing GCSEs/a levels next year and both finish school a month early
