Does this hotel exist?

I'm appealing for help to find a hotel to suit us for an extended family holiday.

There'll be 12 of us (8 adults, 4 kids aged between 2 and 14). Due to a range of fusspots to cater for, what we're looking for is a reasonably nice hotel with self catering accommodation in the grounds. So little bungalow/villas where we could have some privacy and communal space rather than 6 hotel rooms.

The absolute ideal wish list would be:
-4 or 5* hotel with good food
-Decent swimming pools to entertain kids across all the ages
-2 x 3 bed houses next to each other
-Short airport transfer, ideally less than an hour
-Portugal

Google really isn't helping me at all, I didn't think this would be a tough thing to find. Or if anyone knows of a 6-7 bed villa that would come with some sort of catering that might work too. One of our party really doesn't want to self cater, but big villas often work better for big groups.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Eden resort ticks your boxes

VanCleefArpels · 19/09/2022 18:32

Domes of Elounda (or other Domes resorts)

also look at James Villas - they have a whole section for villas within resorts

Ask an independent travel agent ?

I've been to Eden Resort and it may fit the bill. Very nice place for all ages.

Came here to say Eden Resort - it's brilliant and ticks all of those boxes

sparkle17 · 19/09/2022 21:41

Although eden resort is now 2k more for the exact same holiday in July 2023 compared to July 2022 so we had to rule out a return even though we loved it

Martinhal Sagres. Although £££ but has everything you have asked for.

TheBitterBoy · 20/09/2022 06:42

Cascade in Lagos has hotel rooms, self catering apartments and entirely self contained villas with pools on site, with all of the facilities you listed. Not inexpensive though.

Notonthestairs · 20/09/2022 06:52

Pine Cliffs (Albufeira) sounds close to what you want. They have townhouses and apartments. It is £££.

Popvan · 20/09/2022 06:53

Pestana Delfim Hotel Alvor has some self catering appartments on site. You can use the pool, bar and restaurant facilities at the hotel and its a 15 minute walk into Alvor.

Vila Vita Parc

FancyFelix · 20/09/2022 08:07

Thanks all, plenty to look into there.

I had come across pine cliffs and Martinhal already but they are mega money aren't they and I think martinhal particularly seems more focused on much younger families, we will have a couple of teens in tow.

We had this with a place we loved in Majorca, so annoying!

Domes of Elounda

It’s nice but not Portugal!

We went here pre-covid. Has a variety of accommodation options either booked directly through the website or booking.com etc. various leisure activities including 6 pools spread throughout the resort. On site restaurant but Albuferia is close enough with a huge selection of food options.
