as we all live so far away we've chosen York as kind of in the middle but nowhere knows where to meet, obviously we'll have tiny babies, about 6 of us and possibly a couple of nursery age dcs, can anyone in the area reccommend a place with adequate baby facilities, maybe a little play area for the toddlers somewhere that we can just sit and natter please?

I have been to York before, but it was when I was "courting" so wasn't exactly thinking "what a wonderful place for someone with a baby". Is there no one in the area/who knows the area well as a parent, who can suggest anything?????

Yes, you could go to the Spurriergate Centre. here

It's a coffee shop in a church, so it's not open on Sunday mornings because they have services, but it's cheap and fair trade and has a play area and basic baby changing.

I am in York but back at work now sadly!

Thank you so much!!!
We (the due oct 07 thread members) are intending to meet up on a Monday so that could very well be the answer. Sorry you are working again, we could have cajoled you into showing us around.
Anymore suggestions?

Ummm.... Railway Museum? No play area as such but a cafe, plenty of space to run around and trains to look at, and it's free.
