Can anyone recommend town or villa up to about 90 minutes from Gerona or Barcelona airport ?

We are staying a week on the northern costa brava with some friends for a week and then want to have a second week on our own but will be flying into and out of Gerona (preferable) or Barcelona.

Any ideas gratefully received !

oo me and another mnetter (eddas)and the families went to Estartit in 2006 is very quiet nice town and Eddas has contact details of private holiday let apartments (will link this to her via email) we flew into Gerona and I think it was about 30mins away on a coach

Hiya, we went to Estartit every year when I was younger. Has a lovely beach, but is quite quiet. Not much nightlife to speak of. Has lots of bars/restaurants and a nice shopping street. We will be going back there once the dc's are older.

her's thomas opinion When we went we booked an apartment direct with the agents in Spain as that's what my dad always did. ATM I cannot remember the name of them but if you're interested I can try and find it. Where we stayed was self catering and 100 mtrs from the beach.

oh and eah is right it took about 30mins from Gerona.

When I said 'on our own', I meant just DH, DD and me rather than just DH and I (if only...). I meant, not with the other family !

Estartit looks lovely and perfect in many ways - my only slight reservation is that it might be a bit close to where we are going the first week although that is at a friend's villa and we probably won't venture too far from that so we could use the second week to get out and about a bit.

I would be really interested in finding out who you book through if you're able. Thanks !

went to cambrils a few years ago, its lovely.

Begur is a really nice town on Costa Brava, have been there a couple of times.

If you fly in/out Barcelona you should try and spend some time there too.
