Hi all you hardened travellers. We are after recomendations of good websites to find reasonably priced holiday rentals in France. We've only ever done UK holidays and always use cottages.com as they are always much cheaper and the site is easy to use. Is there a similar thing for France?!

Hi there, you can find French holiday let’s on VRBO, Gites de France, Chambres d’hotes and Air B&B.
Standards in France can be far below what we are used to in the UK!
We have just returned from our second French trip this year, I did a lot of research for each one!
what part of France are you heading to?

Don’t know which bit yet but somewhere north. We’ve travelled far for holidays ever so aren’t keen on driving for a gazillion miles. I’ve so far found gites.co.uk is that any good?!
I’ll look at your suggestions though; thanks

My sister and her husband have 2 fantastic gites in Charente, near Confolons, fly to Limoges. They are fitted out to a very high standard and have a pool. In a very quiet village, Alloue, so you need a car, but they are lovely. Have a look. chezpouvet.co.uk/
