Hi

Has anyone been to Cancun before with their partner?

What hotel did you stay in?

What was your overall experience?

Can't remember, but it was a huge AI complex out of town.
(It was booked by a travel agent when we in Mexico on business, who didn't understand what we wanted.)
There are many such places, & they're cheap as chips.

We did manage to escape the armed guards & go into Cancun, which seemed quite a nice place.
I know this is negative, but it might give you an idea where not to go.

Depends what you are looking for. There is a lot of history and culture, but you can ignore it all in an AI compound

Stayed in the Hotel RIU Palace, a 5 star hotel. Ended up seriously ill with cyclospora, as did huge numbers of people at the hotel. I was ill for months afterwards. Apparently its really common to catch in Mexico.

Went to Club Med for the childcare! Nice hotel, Cancun is fine but I was glad I’d only flown short haul from the US tbh. If I was spending long haul time and money then Cancun wouldn’t be on my list.
