Center Pacs - Disgraceful Treatment Of Customers

Listening to Talk TV, I am disgusted that Center Parcs have decided to close their parks on Monday and turf all of their guests out for one day and night. These could be people with young children, people who have already booked their train tickets, people who live miles away and their may not be hotels close by. Shame on Center Parcs. This is not the way to treat customers.

I was just about to start a thread on this. I am gobsmacked. I can't believe they think it's feasible to turf people off site for one day and night and then expect them to come back?! What a crock of shit. By all means close the activities for one day but at least let people stay on site!

I think this is a catastrophic business decision from them and highly doubt the queen or royal family would want so many people to be disappointed and missing out.

Monday is changeover day at Center Parcs for most guests though, so the weekend people will be going home anyway. Perhaps not as big a deal as you might think on first reading? I do appreciate that those guests will lose a full day in the resorts though, and anyone staying a full week arriving on the Friday will obviously be impacted. I’d imagine that there’s compensation in place/ people staying for a week will be offered a booking transfer?

Hoppinggreen · 13/09/2022 14:13

isnt Monday just a changeover day? I didn’t think anyone actually stayed Sunday to Sunday or Monday to Monday.
I could be wrong though as I hate CP and haven’t been for years

PatchworkElmer · 13/09/2022 14:16

@Hoppinggreen you can stay Friday-Friday but the vast, vast majority of guests will be going home after a Friday-Monday break.

I can understand them not wanting to have arrivals/departures but don't kick those out staying a week.

They should provide a refund to those affected and perhaps close facilities but keep the shop open so people can cook

For people staying Fri-Fri they are offering a discount of 17% - but the people need to check out by 10am on Mon and cant check in again till 4pm Tuesday.
Or they can just leave on Mon at 10am and they refund the rest, or arrive 4pm Turs and they refund Fri-Mon.

I think that is crazy!!! They could close the facilities but let people there already stay on - its self catering anyway!

We have always stayed Monday to Friday I would be furious if I was told that we couldn't start our very expensive and much looked forward to break until Tuesday evening.
There is another thread on this here and a lot on twitter. There are people who have booked Monday to Friday and are staying somewhere else miles from home but near center Parcs the weekend before now they have to find another nights accommodation. And people staying Friday to Friday or for a two weeks stay who have to move out for a night.
It's ridiculous and has put me off booking another center Parcs holiday.
