Am I too late to have booked the best deals? This is my first year booking school holidays (our last holiday was a cancelled covid one) and I’ve been surprised by:

a) how much is already booked up especially in Cornwall - some places I’ve looked at have no availability at all
b) how expensive flights are (I thought the flights I wanted would be no more than £1k but are £2-3k
c) how expensive holiday cottages in the UK

Am I doing this wrong? I thought a year ahead would be plenty of time…

That’s why camping and glamping is so popular in this country (apparently there are over 7000 campsites in the Uk!) and why companies like Haven, Eurocamp and Yelloh do so well. Regarding flights, they do come down in price. They’re usually cheapest for long haul about 5 or 6 months before you want to travel, and cheapest for short haul about 3-4 months before.
