3/4 night break with Uni aged daughter

Hi,
My daughter and I went on a 3 night break to Annecy this summer, and had a great time. Lovely scenery, nice walks along the lake and a town that was good was just ambling along the streets and a bit of shopping. I am looking for suggestions for something similar next summer.

My daughter is not keen on big cities. Another place we have been to previously that she liked was Carcassonne.

I am looking for somewhere for a 3/4 night break.
Late June/ early July timing wise.
Nice scenery and easy access to some walks without a car.

I would love to hear your suggestions.

Stresa - Lake Maggiore. Gorgeous!

If you make the trip 4 days, there is enough time to do Salzburg and have a day trip to Zell am See, which is 90 minutes away by train or bus (both of which go through stunning countryside).

Stresa looks lovely as well. Can you tell I am a bit of a fan of lakes and mountains?
Doing a combination of Salzburg and Zell an See also sounds good, although I am maybe thinking of Zell am See for a longer family holiday.
I think those are probably top of my list along with Girona or La Mahon.

Plenty of research for me to do (which is half the fun) to see which has the best combination of flights and accommodation.

For the longer family holiday, Saalbach (16km from Zell am See) has far more mountain walks and activities than Zell am See has. You can always take the free buses to Zell to look at the lake and to swim in it in summer.

For lakes and mountains for a longer break you could also look at Lake Garda. The northern part (Riva, Torbole, Malcesine, Sirmione) is beautiful. Nearest airport is Verona.

Saalbach sounds great.
I stayed in Riva over 20 years ago and thought it was stunning. I much preferred the northern end of the lake. That is definitely one of the places on our family holiday list.

Porto in Northern Portugal is lovely to wander with great food. What about Palma. I love Mallorca. Get the orange train over to Soller. . Stunning walking. San Sebastian or Santander are really interesting and often overlooked in Northern Spain.

Lisbon or Slovenia.
