Shopping in Dunkirk

We'll have a few hours to kill in Dunkirk awaiting our ferry back to the UK in May. Anyone recommend the best places to go for 'stocking up' shopping eg the Auchan hypermarket? Any good? AND does Dunkirk have a proper town centre as such? Ta

Auchan in probably the closest hypermarket next to the port. Dunkirk does have a proper town centre but I've only been a couple of times so couldn't tell you much about it.

Thanks. I suspect Auchan will occupy is like 'foreign' shops can- you know how one prods the products and guess what they might be! Oh, and stock up on beer!

I've just remembered there is boat museum in the town centre.
