Renewing expired passports

What happens if you have children's passports to renew (expired a good few years ago) but they got them done as babies/toddler's so obviously the photo on them doesn't look like they do now? Is it still able to be done online? Would appreciate advice on how to do it as i've read up but still feel a bit confused and stressed about it all.

Yes, you need someone to witness the photo. The person you appoint just gets emailed a form, it’s really easy.

Oh brilliant, thank you for your reply.
I was getting myself all stressed about it.

Yes you can do it online. You need the email address of the person who will verify their identity and they do that online too. You can use your phone/tablet to do the new photo for the application too if you have a suitable pale coloured wall in your house

That's great, i'll try to think of somewhere suitable to take the photos!
Thank you both for your help.
