Jet2 problem

Georgyporky · 06/09/2022 17:49

I've just booked a holiday with Jet2 - taking note of all the praise from MNers !
I paid the deposit by debit card.
I was planning to pay the balance by credit card.

When I read the booking confirmation, I was surprised to see that they plan to take the balance from the same card without consulting me.

I've e-mailed to say that I want to change the card, but keep getting the message :- "The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now."

This has made me very suspicious.
Do they answer e-mails?

Anyone else had this problem? Advice welcome, thank you.

I believe you can log in and pay payments/the balance by another card, i think that message is for those who might not remember their payment date

You can change the card at any time on the app. They are very good I've found

You can go into your account and clear balance with any card. Do it a week or so before full payment is due. Or do monthly instalments if better for you

Thanks everyone, all sorted & looking forward to our first Jet2 holiday.

dont know your personal finances obviously but the tip is to pay a deposit ( over £100 ) on the credit card because regardless of how you pay for the rest of the holiday it’s all protected under the section 75 credit card claim back scheme.

also get holiday insurance sorted asap.

We always fly with jet2. Great company!

Are Jet2 a package holiday? Just asking as I don't own a credit card 😳 only a debit!

Georgyporky · 09/09/2022 18:51

@Day20
Yes. Jet2, Easyjet & BA all offer package holidays as well as flights.

I'm about to use Jet2, & have had good holidays with the other 2.

You are still covered if you use a debit card rather than a credit card, but in my experience the resolution of problems is quicker & easier using a CC rather than a DC

Enjoy. Just back from a Jet2 holiday and they are a great company. Looking forward to my next one.
