here if you don't mind being in a group of cottages:

try googling Big House Party

cottages4you have 4 in Shropshire and about 60 altogether in the whole country.

What date are you looking for? If it's a weekend, as far as C4U are concerned you can't generally book more than 4 weeks in advance if it's a school holiday (no such restriction for a weekly booking), although there are a few exceptions; for the rest of the year you can book when you like but large houses do get booked up well in advance.

Oh sod it, the link changed, sorry.

Anyway have a look at the website yourself - use the availability search page to put in your date, party size and area.

There are also lots of places where you could fit a large party into 2-3 smaller cottages, though of course you probably couldn't all eat round one table etc.

The Landmark Trust do big properties, though not cheap.

here

These are hostels, don't let that put you off, I've stayed at some of them and they're gorgeous. You can usually hire the whole thing for exclusive use, ideal for large groups.

Good prices too.

This one is £160 per night in Hope Valley for sole use, sleeps 22

I've stayed there, its fab.

Thanks everyone, hostel looks really good but it will be too far north, we need to be around the cotswold area so it will be fairly equal for everyone to travel. Its a group of us from the multiple births thread that are trying to meet up, we range from Kent to Devon to Scotland!

Shropshire
Shropshire again
Gloucestershire
Gloucs again
Shropshire AGAIN!
near Derby
Derbyshire (quite near Alton Towers, if you're interested!)

If someone is coming down from Scotland then Derbyshire is fairly central for all - so you might like to reconsider that camping barn, as it would be way cheaper than one of these.
