Rome Trip

I'm planning a trip to Rome in October for my DD and myself. I went many years ago with my DM, so have a vague idea of where everything is and how to get around.

Can anyone recommend reasonably priced places to eat or any special offers to look for? We've got a few ideas of what we want to do, but would love suggestions or any advice that would help, thank you Smile

Eat in Trastevere and you won't go wrong, fabulous traditional trattorias that are almost embarrassingly cheap.
Just outside the Vatican walls there is a great restaurant called Arlu. We ate there twice. If you stick to typical Roman dishes, (carbonara, amatriciana, cacio e pepe) you'll not pay more than about a tenner a head.
It's also a good place to stay- I was there alone with DD and felt very safe, and lots of places are within walking distance (even if a bit of a long walk) Piazza Navona, Trevi, Piazza di Spagna etc)
Buy as many tickets in advance as you can- there are usually separate queues for pre-bought tickets.
Entry to St Peter's itself is free, as I'd the Pantheon.

Thank you, it's good to know about feeling safe, that was on my mind. I've added your suggestions to my list, exactly what I was looking for Smile
