We are due to go on holiday with our children in 2 weeks. It's just me and my husband going with them (usually my parents would be with us)

Can anyone recommend some essentials to have for both of them please to make it as smooth as possible?

I have got a list already but any advise would be appreciated 😊 it's only a 2 hours flight so hopefully that won't cause to much stress! Although we do have a 3 year old who like to be on the move 24/7!

@RewildingAmbridge 😆 I did think the same, OP I take my hat off to you.

Take a sling for the little one and soft toys / a blanket from home so the hotel is less unfamiliar for both kids. Maybe practice being on an airplane with your 3 year old, so they don't complain that the baby can sit on your knee for take off and they can't.

We also paid extra for a taxi transfer to the hotel, rather than a coach journey. Best money we spent (our older DC was older than 3 but baby was 3 months) as baby cried for the full one hour taxi transfer (but was fine on the flight).

And depending where you're going, you may find staff have views on you taking the baby in the pool. We had hotel staff actively trying to discourage us because they felt baby was too young.
