Good European hotels with pools that allow inflatables and balls etc.

We have just come back from Malta and had a great time. One thing that made the holiday good was that there were no rules in the pool about inflatables and balls. It was so nice just to have fun with the children without being restricted by life guards. It made me think that will be an essential criteria for future holidays. However it’s not something that can be easily searched. So I’d love to hear hotel recommendations you have where pool rules have been relaxed. Thanks

Where did you stay in Malta?

We stayed at the DB seabank in Mellieha. The pool was very big and only 1.2m deep so it could take the busyness of lots of things going on! There was an adult’s pool so others could avoid it if they wanted. There were no lifeguards on duty which I imagine helped with the freedom given! This didn’t bother us as we tend to keep an eye on our kids on hols, but I guess that may bother some. Although it was a fairly big hotel it’s didn’t have particularly rowdy guests (I’m guessing Malta holiday makers may be a little more sedate) which I assume helped. I imagine an unpoliced pool in some holiday destinations might be a bit of a nightmare 😂
